About the Author
Please click below to hear how I usually pronounce my name. This is the American way of saying it, which is OK with me.
Trang – pronounced like rang with a T
Thanh – pronounced like Ton, Tun, or Thahn. All OK.
Tran – pronounced like ran with a T
In Vietnamese, the naming convention is Trần Thanh Trang.
Yes! For many years I wrote in fandom spaces but self-rejected ever putting my stories out there. For a myriad of reasons including survival and bills, I studied public health, then worked as a data analyst for programs helping homeless families and low-income HIV+ individuals in NYC. When I was finally in a stable enough place, I decided to chase my dream and wrote the book that will be my debut.
For aspiring writers, it’s absolutely okay to just write for yourself until you’re ready to share — but don’t self-reject forever!
